
Our Leader, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar @54. The Executive Governor of Jigawa State Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar who clocked 54, on Thursday (born 29 September 1962) was elected governor of Jigawa State in April 2015. He is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress Party (APC).
Early career...
Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar was born in the Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Accountancy from the Ahmadu Bello University, and he is a Member of the National Institute (MNI). He also attended the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos.
He served as an Auditor with the Audit Department of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Kano State, in 1987 and resigned in 1991 to establish his business outfit Talamiz Company. Talamiz Company was later incorporated as Talamiz Nigeria Limited, which later gave birth to subsidiaries such as Talamiz Motors, Talamiz Consumer Company, Talamiz Transport, Talamiz Commodities, Talamiz Properties, Talamiz Poultry and Farms, and Talamiz Petroleum.
He is also the Chairman of Talamiz Oil Mill Limited, Socar Talamiz Limited, RMR shipping Bv, AML Bonded Terminal, ALUAFRIC Cairo and a Director of Sahih Nigeria Limited.
He is a Recipient of National Honour of the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) and Traditional Titles Holder of Sardauna of Ringim Emirate, and Wali of Jahun, all in Jigawa State.

Badaru Abubakar ran unsuccessfully for election on 26 April 2011. But lost to Sule Lamido who polled 676,307 votes, with runner-up Badaru Abubakar of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) scoring 343,177 votes
In 2015 the Jigawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar, was declared winner of the April 11 governorship election in the state. Announcing the results, Prof. James Ayatsa, said Alhaji Abubakar of APC scored 648,045 votes, while PDP candidate, Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim Ringim polled 479,447.

As our Leader and Mentor clocked 54, our Governor is fondly remembered for the good leadership he has been providing and astonishing transformation that has taken place in Jigawa State despite the economic downturn. It is pleasing to acknowledge that since he assumed his present position, he has demonstrated uncommon dedication and commitment in the service to Jigawa State and our dear country, Nigeria.
Our wish and prayer is for the Almighty Allah to continue to strengthen him for more fruitful services to Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole.
